Frequently Asked Questions
General
How do I get from the airport to my hotel?
If you are flying into Tulum (TQO) we highly recommend pre-booking a shuttle or taxi to take you to the hotel, it can be tricky to negotiate on-site. If you are staying at the Hilton, please look at the shuttle service we linked on our travel page as this is both recommended by the hotel and the most affordable.
If you are flying into Cancun (CUN) you are still welcome to pre-book a shuttle or taxi, however, CUN has a bit more flexibility, and options like Uber are available. Still plan on arranging travel back to the hotel either with a prepaid shuttle, taxi or coordinating with the hotel.
Should I bring cash (Pesos/USD) with me?
Yes. If you plan on staying at the hotel the entirety of your stay we recommend a bit of cash to tip waiters, bartenders, and porters. Both USD and Pesos are accepted.
If you plan on going offsite or don’t plan on pre-booking your travel, keep in mind most taxis will not accept credit card.
Are there planned activities?
All activities related to the wedding can be found on our events page. Otherwise, the time is yours to relax and explore.
What is the weather going to be like?
The average daily temperature ranges from 22°C (72°F) to 30°C (86°F), with the daytime highs at just 27°C (81°F). Plan on packing light breathable attire! As the sun sets, the temperatures dip to a range between 18°C (64°F) and 22°C (72°F), so make sure to carry a jacket or sweater for those chilly evenings.
Hilton Pro Tip
Upon arriving at the Hilton you will receive a wrist band. This wrist band has a QR code that allows you to view events, order room service, etc. It will also let you make reservations at the onsite restaurants. We HIGHLY recommend making reservations early as they do tend to fill up.
Welcome Party/Ceremony & Reception
Where is the Welcome Party?
The welcome party is located at the Hilton on the Main Beach Right Side. If you are coming from offsite, please note that you will have to pay for a pass which will cost around $115 USD. If you'd like to come and enjoy the hotel for the full day, the day pass is $190.
Should I eat before the Welcome Party?
Yes. We will have light bites at the welcome party so we recommend eating beforehand.
What should I wear to the Welcome Party?
We would love it if our guests wore white, off white, or khaki to the welcome party but please put your comfort first! The event is on a beach so something casual is totally fine (yes, that includes no shoes).
Is the Wedding at the Hilton too?
NO. The wedding ceremony and reception are offsite. Please refer back to our events page for a link to the exact location. If you are traveling from the Hilton the shuttle will arrive to pick up at 4:15 SHARP.
What if I miss the shuttle?
If you miss the shuttle, please work with the front desk to arrange a taxi. A taxi will cost approximately $25-$35 USD.
What should I wear to the Wedding?
We encourage comfort above all else, but semi-formal/beach cocktail attire is recommended. The ceremony is on the beach so sandals are a good idea! Remember the evenings are chilly so bring a jacket! But of course the best way to warm up is hitting the dance floor!
How do I get back to the hotel?
At the end of the evening (12AM) there will be shuttles to take folks back to the Hilton. If you think you may want to leave earlier please reach out to Raquel! Otherwise, you can always plan on calling a taxi from the reception (just remember to have around $25-$35 on hand).
The Day After
Where can we find the happy couple if we want to say goodbye?
TBD! We will plan on setting up camp somewhere to say goodbye to folks! Check back in to the website events page for more details as we sort that out.
Did you know the Super Bowl is that Sunday?
Yes, we know! We are waiting to hear from the Hilton as to whether or not they have any special events going on. If not, you can probably catch us in the Sports Lounge (right off the main lobby) watching it!
